When you select the upload selection box you will be presented with the options below.

Depending on your requirements you have the option for us on our servers to upgrade the uploaded families to the selected Revit versions for you.  This speeds up the end users drag/drop experience from within Revit, as Revit will load in the family which has already been upgraded.

For example:

  1. You upload Revit 2019 families, and you select upgrade 2022, & 2023, and you share that library to Revit 2021, 2022 & 2023
    1. We store the original family but also make a copy on the cloud of that in Revit 2022 & 2023.
    2. If a user in Revit 2021 drags and drops the family in, Family Browser will download the original family in 2019, upgrade it and then insert into your project.
    3. If a user in Revit 2023 inserts the family, Family Browser will download the 2023 version of the family and insert that without the need of doing a family upgrade.

NOTE:  if you have selected a previous version in the dialog box above, from the family file being uploaded, we will ignore that.  We cannot downgrade (save as) to a lower Revit version that the family file is.
